Serving Clients Nationwide

Most organizations don’t have an intelligence function. They have a security team that reacts to incidents, a leadership team that reads headlines, and a gap in between where threat awareness should live. Convoy Group exists to fill that gap.

Our Protective Intelligence practice provides clients with a dedicated analytical capability – proactive, persistent, and tailored to their specific threat environment. We monitor. We investigate. We assess. And when something surfaces that requires attention, we tell you what it is, what it means, and what to do about it – before it becomes a problem you’re managing instead of a threat you anticipated.

The clients we serve in this practice span very different industries and operational contexts. What they share is a common need: professional intelligence support that goes beyond passive monitoring and delivers genuine analytical judgment.

The Question That Drives Everything

When a threat surfaces – a concerning message, an unfamiliar individual at the perimeter, an online post that catches someone’s attention – the instinct is to escalate. But escalation without context is noise. What leadership actually needs, and what executive protection agents actually need, is an answer to a specific question:

“Is this a 16-year-old in their moms’ basement with a grievance or someone with capability, intent, and credibility?”

That distinction determines everything. It determines the protective posture. It determines the resource deployment. It determines whether a scheduled event proceeds, whether a principal’s itinerary changes, whether law enforcement is notified. Getting that answer wrong – in either direction – has real consequences.

Convoy Group’s role is to deliver that answer, with the analytical rigor and professional accountability it requires.

What We Do

Our Protective Intelligence practice encompasses five core service areas, delivered as a unified analytical function rather than isolated products:

Protective Intelligence
Ongoing, proactive monitoring of the threat environment surrounding a client, principal, or organization. We track persons of interest, groups, narratives, and emerging threats – surfacing what matters before it reaches the client’s awareness through other channels.
Situational Awareness
Persistent monitoring of the broader environment – local, national, and international – for developments relevant to client safety and operations. This includes civil unrest, significant incidents, and conditions that could affect client personnel, facilities, or scheduled activities.
Investigations
When a specific threat or person of concern requires deeper examination, Convoy conducts structured investigations using open-source intelligence and professional analytical methodology. Engagements range from background investigations on individuals to threat actor identification and sustained monitoring of identified subjects or groups.
Travel Intelligence
Comprehensive intelligence support for client travel, including pre-travel threat briefs, destination-specific situational awareness packages, and real-time monitoring throughout the trip duration. Coverage extends beyond security threats to political climate, infrastructure considerations, weather, and conditions on the ground – everything an EP agent or traveling executive needs to make informed decisions.
Recurring Intelligence Briefs
Scheduled analytical products – daily, weekly, or event-driven – delivered directly to client stakeholders, EP agents, or security leadership. These are finished intelligence, not raw data feeds. Each product reflects analytical judgment about what matters and why.

Client Engagements

The following represent three distinct client relationships within Convoy Group’s Protective Intelligence practice. Each reflects a different operational context and a different set of requirements, illustrating the adaptability of this service across sectors.

CLIENT A
Regional Nonprofit Organization – Faith-Based Community Institution

This client serves a large, geographically distributed membership base with a public-facing profile and elevated threat exposure tied to their organizational identity. The nature of their community made them a potential target for ideologically motivated harassment, protest activity, and in certain periods, more serious threat actors.

Convoy Group served as the client’s dedicated intelligence function for an extended retainer period, providing recurring finished intelligence products on a scheduled basis as well as surge capacity during elevated-risk windows, including major community events and periods of heightened national tension relevant to their population.

Services delivered included ongoing protective intelligence monitoring, event-specific threat advisories, background investigations on individuals of concern, and coordination with the client’s security leadership to ensure intelligence products were operationally actionable.

At the conclusion of the engagement, Convoy produced a comprehensive handover brief for the client’s incoming in-house analyst – documenting active monitoring streams, persons of interest, methodology context, and product templates – ensuring continuity of the intelligence function.

CLIENT B
Defense Technology Firm – Corporate Executive Protection Support

This client operates in the defense and national security technology sector, with senior personnel who maintain both a corporate profile and a degree of public visibility consistent with their industry. Their executive protection program required a reliable intelligence layer to support agents in the field and inform leadership decisions.

Convoy Group provided recurring protective intelligence support in the form of structured daily briefings delivered directly to EP agents, covering relevant threat developments, person-of-interest updates, and situational context for the principal’s operating environment. A separate late-day analytical product provided broader situational awareness for security leadership.

The cadence and format of these products were designed around the operational rhythm of the EP program – actionable intelligence delivered at the right time, in the right format, to the right people.

This engagement reflects a model Convoy Group has refined specifically for corporate EP support: the intelligence function operating as a force multiplier for agents on the ground, allowing them to focus on protection while Convoy maintains the analytical picture.

CLIENT C
County-Level Protective Services Unit – Government / Law Enforcement Adjacent

This client provides protective services to a specific set of principals within a defined jurisdiction. Their operational requirements called for consistent, professional intelligence support that could integrate with an existing protective operation without duplicating law enforcement functions.

Convoy Group has provided ongoing protective intelligence support to this unit, including recurring analytical products, travel intelligence packages for principal movements, and investigative support on specific persons or situations of concern as they arise.

Travel intelligence support for this client is particularly comprehensive, combining pre-travel threat briefs, destination situational awareness packages covering security conditions, political climate, infrastructure, and weather, and real-time monitoring throughout travel windows to ensure EP agents have a continuously updated intelligence picture for principal movements.

This engagement illustrates Convoy’s ability to integrate seamlessly with existing protective operations, functioning as an embedded analytical capability rather than an external vendor.

Who This Is For

Convoy Group’s Protective Intelligence practice is designed for organizations and individuals who:

  • Have a public profile, elevated threat exposure, or operational complexity that exceeds what passive monitoring tools can address
  • Maintain an executive protection program and need an intelligence function that supports agents in the field
  • Travel domestically or internationally and require more than a generic security briefing
  • Have received a specific threat or identified a person of concern and need professional investigative support to assess it
  • Want a dedicated analytical capability without the cost and complexity of building an in-house intelligence team

We work across sectors – nonprofit, corporate, government-adjacent, faith-based, and defense – because threat environments do not respect industry boundaries. Our clients are different. The discipline we bring to each of them is not.
